amazing race 2010. what can i say? well, in my opinion it wasnt as good as last year's amazing race, but still fun nonetheless (Y)
SO this year's team team S.L.U.T consisted of duc, paul, kon, matt and myself :D i have to say, our team was quite good, ran about 85% of the whole race, extremely tired at the end though D:
so a description of our team's "adventure":
we started off at church, we were one of the first teams out, but we had to wait for a train at the station anyway, so we kinda ran for no reason, but ohwell. anyway, to start off, we were given 2 tasks, a main task and a divert task. The divert was just something that we had to do, but we could do whenever - and it was to go to huntingdale station, edward st reserve to get a balloon. We decided to do it first, to get it out of the way, and about half the teams thought the same thing, so at huntingdale, half the teams ran off, while the others stayed and continued to the city. At huntingdale, i was the first person out the station, and had to pick one way to go - i picked left, and then a whole bunch of other teams followed, while others went the other way. When we realised that the place we went to didnt look right, we ditched all the teams that followed us, and went back around, then saw joash's team looking at a strangers melway, so we followed them, and found the checkpoint. turns out we had to carry the balloon the whole race, so when we got back to huntingdale station we de-flated it, and put it in our bag (which i carried the whole way >_>)
after that, we got back to the main tasks, and we had to find this statue, it was at docklands, so we got off at southern cross, along with joash's team, and krystin's team. Erol's team already got the balloon and took a train before us, so they were already ahead D: so we get to docklands right after joash's team, and the clue tells us to find the "public purse. We had no idea what that was, so we decided to ask people. Big mistake. The people we asked, all thought it was a metaphor for the old treasury building, and it makes sense, so we went all the way to the city museum, which was completely wrong. We had to find out what happened in 2001 to a building next to the "public purse" and we thought it was some federation thing. Once we had our "answer" we had to tell a guy waiting at the strand arcade, which was in the middle of the city >_> turns out, the "public purse" was literally a purse, and the building was the GPO and the event was a fire there. >_> so we got that completely wrong, which set us back 1 and a half hours, which basically put us in last place.
We then had to go to southbank, when we got there, we were last, and erol's team leaves just as we get there >_> the task at southbank was a road block, so we could only send one person, so we sent duc (Y) duc came back pretty fast, but then we still had to wait an hour, cos it counts as a lunch break, before we can leave again. LUCKILY, serene's team cheated at the roadblock, so they leave after us, which doesn't make us last (: It really sucked watching all the teams leave, while we have to sit there ):
Once we were allowed to leave southbank, we had to find one of two people. One was at the arts precinct, the other was at the shrine of remembrance, we couldn't find the person at the arts precinct after 10 mins, so we went to the shrine of remembrance to find miss ross. We spent about 20 mins looking with all the other teams, turns out she had her back to the shrine with a hoody on so no-one could find her >_> The next clue was to go to NGV - the national gallery of victoria. We took a tram to the shrine and a tram back, so we caught up to the teams that were lagging behind (Y) at the NGV, was another roadblock, so we sent duc AGAIN. haha, but duc came out with all these other people aswell, so werent really ahead. Last clue was to go back to clayton, so we ran to flinders, but had to wait 20 mins for a train. ): Alot of teams were already ahead so we were already worried we wouldnt beat thomas's team ): also since when they left at southbank, hansol and marvin were being cocky for being ahead of us D:
Ok so our train gets to hungtingdale, and all the others that hadn't done the divert, get on the train, we were hoping thomas's team was on the train, so we still had a chance to beat them, but at this time, we knew we already to lost to erol's team. So at clayton, you would just see a whole mass of asians run off the train towards the church, and once we were there, we had to put in order these pictures, of where we went. They were annoying to see, but we mangaed, and we ended up coming 18th. Erol's team came 2nd, krystin's team came 9th but thomas's team was nowhere to be seem :D They ended up coming 21st, which is 3rd last, because they couldn't find the balloon (Y) so im still satisfied :D
wait until next year, we'll win for sure.

maths can kill D:
so lately, I've fallen behind in my gma (general maths advanced) class...
and today my teacher checked our homework D:
I was about 5 exercises behind - so yeah, i kinda got screwed over...
my teacher got really angry and threatened to kick me out of the subject and fail me lol (which she probably can't do) and the usual detentions lmaooo
i honestly didn't care that much, but i didn't want detentions, so i decided to do as much as i can...
Ive been doing maths since i got home, my head is starting to hurt (panadol ftw :D) and i am still about 2 exercises behind... hope that's enough lol...

Looking for a place the sun shines...
well i have to say, it's been a pretty good week :D
me buried and dean posing >_>
there was camp this week and it was better than i had first thought (Y)
usually, school camps give you bad accommodation and bad food, but the year 11 phillip island camp had neither of those (: sure, the cabins werent as clean as hotels, but you cant expect too much can you?
The food there was great aswell, had seconds of pretty much everything, even though when we got back to the cabin we'd keep on eating anyway (:
My cabin had simon, marvin, anthony and hansol, and my activity group had, marvin, serene, tiff l, hung-tzu, jamie, mina and steph... and yes, it was 6 girls and 2 guys lol.
i was tired throughout the whole time we were there though ): wasnt getting enough sleep lol...
One of the problems we had, was that we took aaron's kettle into our cabin, so everyone came and cooked their noodles there, which made our cabin smell like crap ): but it was JUST bearable so we could still sleep at night... |:
Worst part of camp: how dirty i got after raft-making ): even though our raft was pro, and didnt sink at all, none of the girls could use the oar and paddle, so we couldn't get anywhere >_> i ended up having to swim in the lake to get us moving D:
The maze there was pretty awesome aswell, and they even had a place there named after me (Y) "Andy's room", which was basically a room that screws up your sense of up and down lol (:
funniest part of camp, would HAVE to be me and dean's human ball :D - we would hold onto each other, and roll down a hill like a somersault (Y) even though it pretty much failed, i hurt myself a few times and we only got 2 'rolls', it was still pretty epic :D
my epic "gravity chair" :D
overall, it was a pretty good camp, i know everyone enjoyed themselves haha :D

On a different note... things have been getting alot better for me lately, camp really took my mind off things, and i think i should just take it easy for now...
Prayer everyday really helped and i can't neglect all the stuff my friends did to cheer me up (:

clouded vision
so confused at the moment. its all just too confusing for me. it did my head in.
what should I do?
I've lied to myself, said it was nothing, now i've lost sight of the truth...
only time will tell.

spit into the sky and be done with it.
how i feel right now? i feel like absolute shit.
It just hurts to know that things are over, and i don't know how long that empty feeling in my chest is gonna take to heal...
if you are reading this, what means to me the most is that you're happy. as long as you're happy, then that's enough for me...
you were like a light shining on my feet, now that light is gone and i'm lost...
All i can do now is look at the path before me and continue my slow walk down it...
The pain that i feel will someday fade away to memory... hopefully.

vce?
Well lately I've noticed people worrying over their homework this week, and people seem to start getting stressed |:
So i found this thing in the mwsc vce diary, and it's about stress and coping with it. I am pretty sure that not many people would know about this anyway so ill just type it all out for everyone (: (but ill make it slightly simpler :D)
14 ways to deal with stress:
1. Prioritize your tasks. Don't let work pile up and then do them all at the last minute. work first, socialize later.
2. Make lists. Make yourself a list of what needs to be done and in what order. That way, you'll get all the important stuff done first and won't forget about them.
3. Manage time. Set yourself enough time to do the work for each subject. So, spend more time on the more important tasks.
4. Don't take more than you can handle. Know your limits.
5. Don't let one thing take over. Don't spend all your time on one subject. Divide your attention so that you wont fall behind in any subjects.
6. Don't keep things to yourself. You don't have to cope alone. Take some time out to talk to people, don't let your worries build up.
7. Take care of yourself. Make sure you get enough sleep each night, and avoid too much stimulants like caffeine.
8. Eat well-balanced meals. When you stress, you use up more of your body's nutrients, so make sure you eat enough healthy food.
9. Exercise. Make sure you get at least some exercise. It can help boost your energy, clear your mind and release pent-up emotions.
10. Take a day off to rest occasionally. If you're stressed, you won't be able to concentrate well. Give yourself a day off from homework and enjoy yourself, have some fun.
11. Set realistic goals. Don't try and do the impossible. Make sure you are able to achieve the goals you set. Don't push yourself too much.
12. Encourage yourself. Use any way you want to encourage yourself. Remind yourself that an A would be good, but it's not the end of the world if you don't get it.
13. Keep things in perspective. Don't get distressed over stuff you can't change. An exam or assignment might seem important now, but in the big picture, its really jsut a small part of your entire life. Just do your best.
14. Exercise your sense of humour. Laughter is the best medicine. Having a good laugh can ease pent-up emotions. Next time you feel stressed, find something funny to laugh at; failbooking, a comedy movie, thomas's singing (jokes :D) anything is ok.
4 ways to IMMEDIATELY deal with stress:
1. Take a 60 second break. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and clear your mind for a bit.
2. Relax for 5 minutes. Think of the place you most want to be at that moment, people that you want to be with, and just relax for 5 or so minutes.
3. Make a "worry list". put all your feelings and thoughts onto some random piece of paper can immediately help your stress level. You'd be surprised how just putting your feelings and thought to paper can help you release steam.
4. Treat yourself. Do anything that you love. Listen to music, watch some anime, watch a movie, talk to friends, anything that you want to do. Just try and relax and enjoy it.
For all those people stressing over homework, i hoped this helps (:

back from hong kong (:
well as many of you would know, i just got back from hong kong (:
hong kong in one word is: awesome.
but since my dad had a place in 'shenzhen' which is in china, we stayed there overnight etc...
china on the otherhand is not as awesome ):
because of that, everyday we had to cross the hong kong china border (which got really repetitive) so i would have to wake up slightly earlier than usual, but it doesnt make much difference anyway since in hong kong nothing opens until at least midday (Y)
Anyway, so i'm crossing the border back to china with all of the stuff we bought one day, and then i get asked to have my bags checked ._. i didnt understand mandarin so i stood there, until my mum told me that they want to check my bags >_> afterwards, my dad said its because i look like a bad person, but i didn't believe that (:
then, the very next day, on our way into hong kong, i got asked to be searched >__________>
luckily, the guy spoke cantonese so i understood him (Y), but i'm still being searched D: two security people took me to a room, asked me to take out everything from my pockets, and then they searched me >_> guess what my dad said after... that i look like a bad person D: my sister just laughed at me >_> do i really look like a bad person? ):
another bad thing about china, facebook is blocked. ITS BLOCKED. WTH. D:
i also went to this snow mountain, not for ski-ing like mt.bulla, more climbing. Still, we took the cable car up (: and we went up 4506m above sea level :S and because we're so high up, there's less oxygen up there, so we had to buy oxygen :|
pretty much everyday spent in hong kong was awesome but i bought less clothes than i thought :S on the other hand, i got my new phone (sony ericcson aino) which is awesome (Y), a portable hard-drive, and a DSi (:
my old DS broke by the way :D, i "accidentally" dropped it, so not only the screen was dodgy, but the down button didnt work anymore ._.
my new phone which i love :D
I also saw most of my cousins which was good, haven't seen them for around 2 years, but they're all out working now so i only see them when we go to dinner D:
Some of you may not know this, but ever since i went to Japan, Eric Ee and I have been looking for mitsuya cider everywhere... they don't sell it in Australia so we never found anyway, but I FINALLY FOUND IT IN HONG KONG. WOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
(:
and so that was a VERY brief summary of my trip to hong kong (:
