So today i went out with the leaders and the other youth reps out to lyrebird park, which is somewhere in whoopwhoop land...
Anyway, the day was really good, we all learnt a lot about teamwork, communication, trust, responsibility and perspectives.
One thing that I wanted to share, was an analogy that the instructor told us.
"Imagine a still lake. Then imagine yourself walking along the bank of that lake, just you and nothing else. You see a few pebbles lying on the ground, and you decide to skip stones. The pebbles were just the perfect size and shape. So you skip the pebbles along the still lake water. What happens to the water? Ripples form. Watch the ripples form on the surface of the water, and watch them retreat. But what happens to the pebble? It sinks. And as it sinks down into the water, it adds a little bit more depth to the lake."
Ok, so what does that mean? Well. Think about the lake as a task. And you are the pebble. The ripples are the results of your actions. So, every time the pebble skips along the surface of the water, it signifies your actions. The ripples, are the result of your actions. They can be good or bad. But after awhile, you'll stop skipping along the water, and start to sink. And when that happens, your adding depth, another part, to the lake. Which means that your adding a little bit of yourself, your views/ideas, into that task.
Or you can look at the big picture, and see the lake as "the world", the pebble is still you and the ripples are still your actions. But instead of representing just a task, it represents your life.

Guardian Soul
Guys obsess over strength. To be strong, apparently means that you have to have big muscles. I don't hold this to be true. True strength isn't measured by how big your muscles are, or how heavy your weights are. I measure true strength, as the willingness to protect something close you. That "thing" that is close to you, could be anything. It could be your beliefs, your morals, people you care about, your belongings that hold a special meaning or even just your own opinion. Basically anything you feel has a special meaning within your life. To have true strength, is to be able to defend those things. You could say a lot of things, and be able to back it up because you know people or you're tank, but if you can't even stand up for what you believe in, then you are weak. You give in to peer pressure, you care too much about what everyone else thinks about you, and not enough about how you want to be. When something that someone holds dear is on the line, that is when true strength is shown. That person would do anything to be able to correct the situation. Getting angry doesn't help. Getting sad doesn't help. Unless worrying is some new way of dealing with a problem, then you have to act. Do something about it instead of just cycling through emotions.
But that doesn't mean you have to do everything yourself. The world is made of light AND darkness, you can't have one without the other. Where there is light, there will be a shadow cast by that light. It takes someone strong to stay out of the dark, and keep themselves within the light. But it takes someone even stronger to drag themselves out of the darkness, and into the light, where everybody belongs. Sometimes, a person can't do it alone. All it would take, is one helping hand, to lift that person out of darkness, and into the light.
Never lose sight of the light, and stay strong.

Blinded by Light
You can't do anything in life, without achieving it. You can't just sit around all day, and expect things to happen. Unless you act, nothing will ever change for you.
People have hope, as something to hold onto. That way, they don't have to give up, and can still continue to believe. Others have hope, because they have nothing else left. We can reach out as far as we can. Past the clouds and sky, and yet we still wouldn't be able to grasp the truth of things. However, wishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. You may not agree, but that is what I see.
Through time. Everything is clearer through time. If you believe in things such as hope, miracles and wishes. Then you have to do something about it. Even with hope, and a lot of wishing, nothing will happen unless you create them, hence, miracles. If you believe in those things, and believe that good things will eventually come to you, without any effort, then you are blinded by light. Blinded by things people perceive to be good.

would it be easier?
Problems. We face them everyday. What affects you as a person the most, is not how that problem formed or the result, but how you go about dealing with it.
What do you normally do? Do you face the problem head on, no matter what the consequence? Do you run away from it, and avoid it because you're scared of the consequence? Or maybe you always put it off like me, because you never know what to say or do.
For me: if something is too much to deal with, then I face it later. That's because some things seem easier when you look at it from a distance. Give everything some time, and eventually, the time will come and you'll know what to say or do. Until then, just don't let your problem bother you, but make sure you don't miss your chance...
"When I couldn't see a future, I was afraid. When the future was clear and it hurt to see, I just close my eyes and lose myself in happier days." - Oerba Dia Vanille

If you know me, then you would know that i am currently obsessed with Final Fantasy XIII. I have waited an entire year for it to come out, and now that it's here, i spend all my time playing it. So far, i've played about 8-10 hours of it, and im still not even half way through :D So just to let everyone who doesn't know, i will hardly be on msn, when i am on, it usually means i was kicked off the xbox, or its too late. train of thoughts...
so today i was bored, and i started thinking...
How can you tell if someone is lying to you? How do you know that they aren't hiding something from you? No matter how long you've known them, or how close you are to them, how do you know that they are really who they are? After all, everybody lies. You can't know everything about a person, that much is obvious, but how do you know that what they tell you, everything you know about them is true? Is it better to trust people first, and look for the good things in people? Or is it better to assume you can't trust anyone, until you know more about them? When someone tells a lie, be it a small white lie or even a major lie that could change someone's life, wouldn't that lie still be true for somebody? If you lie to keep someone out of trouble, then the chances that you may have gotten someone else in trouble is still possible. What's so different about saving one person from trouble, than another?
The only answer that i could come up with, isn't really even an answer. There is no difference to saving one person from another. But if you don't come in contact with people that need saving, then you won't need to worry.
Or.
Think about this; Life is a series of rooms. And who we get stuck in those rooms with, adds up to what our lives are. They can be good or bad influences. It's up to you to decide whether or not you want to stay in those rooms. Lying, can be considered a way to escape from room, into another. Is that true for you?
Maybe you're one of those people that don't open up much to others. You show everyone, how you would like to be seen, but you're actually dying inside, keeping all your problems, sorrows and pain to yourself. When people ask you personal questions, you dismiss them with a lie, because you don't want people to think of you as a person who can't handle their own problems... The truth is, if you think like that, no offense, but you're a coward. You don't share anything with anyone, people around you don't know what you really feel and that way, no-one can ever give you support, or help you through hard times. Maybe you do confide in a few people, but you wouldn't tell those few people everything that's bothering you. By keeping things in, and then lying about it when someone asks - that's cowardice. You're too scared to face yourself and the thought scares you. And people probably wouldn't have noticed, but yeah, I am talking about myself...at least, myself up until around April last year when I met someone. I started opening up to that person, which in turn made me happier and I started to change for the better (:
So yeah, my train of thought kept going, but none of the rest of the stuff is relevant (: and just so you know, there's nothing wrong with me right now. I'm not sad, depressed or anything, just wanted to share my weird train of thoughts with everyone... :D

Cogito ergo sum = i think therefore i am
I think therefore i am.... by that logic:
- I think i am confident, therefore i am confident
- I think i am kind, therefore i am kind
- I think i am sad, therefore i am sad
- I think i am happy, therefore i am happy
- I think i am in love, therefore i am in love
- I think i am Christian, therefore i am Christian
- I think i am awesome, therefore i am awesome (:
anyway... charissa and I ran games for youth last night, and it went better than i thought it would (Y) our timing was pretty good and it seemed as though people enjoyed it. (except for the people who didn't participate *cough*kelly and her sister*cough*)
Overall i think we did a pretty good job for our first time (:
Outreach night was good, even though only one of the new people that came raised their hand to accept Christianity, it was awesome to see people like lin and krystin go up to renew their faith :D
Of course, there would have been some other people that i would have liked to see up there aswell, but i've learnt that you can't have everything in life. I pray that those specific people wont drift too far from god, but i won't pressure them or anything... It has to be what they want.

nothing left for me to do.
I've tried. and i've failed. I've tried again. and once again, i fail. Others help, but they fail as well. We've done all we could, you choose not to listen, when something happens, not our problem.
Information is incapable of harm in and of itself. Ideas are neither good nor bad, but merely as useful as what we do with them. Only actions can cause harm. What you do with information, is entirely your choice. Make sure you're not making the wrong choice. That's all i ask of you now.

to this day.
'one who knows nothing, can understand nothing.'
I never knew why, so i was confused. Now, i found a reason, i know, and i feel i can understand, even if its just a little bit...
